UP Election ADR report

Now after the elections, the exercise of forming a government in Uttar Pradesh is going on. The party BJP, which has won a huge majority in the state, has not yet decided on the name of the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, ADR has released 402 of 403 elected legislators and criminal records of property. In the assessment of ADR, criminal records on 143 (36 percent) MLAs and 107 of them (26 percent) are serious criminal cases

How the impact of wealth and power has increased in politics has been proved by the assets and criminal records of the candidates during the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. One of the hallmarks is that out of the elected MLAs, 143 (36 per cent) criminal record holders and 322 (80 per cent of the legislators) are crorepatis. The average property of elected MLAs is Rs. 5.92 crores.
