There is a Huge Career Imbalance in the Country

A recent update says that a shortage of IAS officers is affecting the system of governance in India, while another update comes with the horrid truth that 60% of the engineering grads are jobless. And we already know about the huge vacancies in the Indian judiciary, resulting into thousands of pending court cases.

All these updates are quite frustrating for the Indian youth as nobody would like to know that what they have studied is useless and they could follow some other discipline to get a secure job. Clearly, there is a lack of career guidance for the Indian students.

The career moves are more or less decided by the Indian students and their families before the 10+2 level of education. The students are mostly guided by parents, neighbors, relatives and friends; none of these can be considered as ‘professional career guidance’.

The Indian government and private organizations should think about free career counseling in all Indian schools, to inspire and motivate the students in the right track. Presently, this might be available for high profile schools; but the Indian government should think about the general students. In this way, the Indian youth can get bright career opportunities and the government and private organizations can utilize the talents of this soil in an amazing way.
