GOVERNMENT TOUGH ON DOCTORS IN MAHARASHTRA

Government Tough On Doctors in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra Government has taken a tough stand against the doctors on strike; the ‘join work or lose salary’ stand of the Maharashtra Govt has been vehemently criticized by the doctors’ associations throughout the country. The doctors of All India Institute of Medical Sciences have come forward to support the cause of #savethesaviour, which arose after the resident doctors were physically abused in Maharashtra hospitals.

The doctors across India are claiming safety at work, while the government has not shown much concern about the issue. The indifference of the government towards the safety of doctors has caused even more frustration in the medical practitioners.

The doctors at AIIMS have come to work wearing driving helmets, suggesting a bold protest against doctor-abuse. The Bombay High Court has sternly criticized the strike, saying that if doctors stop working to create pressure on management like common factory workers, they should better quit the job.
