IPS OFFICER SUSPENDED

IPS Officer Suspended

IPS officer from the DGP office in Lucknow, Himanshu Kumar, is suspended on the ground of breach of discipline. Himanshu was previously posted as the Superintendent of Police in Faridabad; his duty was shifted by the Election Commission during the UP Assembly polls. His consecutive defamatory posts on Twitter against the Yogi government have led to this action against him. Kumar allegedly said in his posts that the government is taking discriminatory actions against police officials and common people for their caste identity. Senior officers of police completely denied Kumar’s allegations.

IPS Kumar’s allegation was that the police personnel with ‘Yadav’ surname were being harassed by senior officials. It fueled uproar on the social media. Later he deleted the posts and tried to mould the situation in his favor with apologetic remarks—but all was in vain. An inquiry was ordered and Kumar was found guilty. He is also hitched in a court battle with his estranged wife.
