Government saved Rs 34,000 crore from DBT: Ministry of Finance

As per the information given by Finance Secretary the Central Government informed on Wednesday that saving of direct benefit transfer DBT in various social welfare schemes has saved Rs. 34,000 crore. At the same time, the Government also believes that using the Aadhaar helps in monitoring corruption and improving the competence. 

During the Assocham program, Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa said, "In the schemes where direct benefit transfer has started, some events have received significant achievements. According to an estimate, these schemes have saved about Rs. 34,000 crores. Cash transfer has been implemented in 78 schemes and there are so many schemes where it has to be implemented.
