UNTIMELY SNOWFALL, THUNDERSTORM AND HEAVY RAINFALL IN JAMMU AND SRINAGAR

Untimely Snowfall, Thunderstorm and Heavy Rainfall in Jammu and Srinagar

After the political heat, now cold weather has created a threat for the people of Jammu and Srinagar. The weather in Jammu and Kashmir has taken a weird turn; the valley is seeing fresh snowfall, rain and thunderstorms which are not at all expected at this time of year.

The sudden change in weather has left everyone puzzled; schools have been closed. The mercury has shown a sharp fall due to the heavy downpour; the water-logged valley has created difficulty in daily life. Mercury has fallen below five degree Celsius in Srinagar, while Sonmarg and Gulmarg are under the freezing point. Landslides have taken place around the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

The cold weather is going to cast havoc on the fruit blossoms which bloomed just a few days back. Schools and colleges will remain closed up to April 8. Public life has come to a halt due to the unfriendly turns of the weather.
