Disputes in Delhi Government: Reports Shunglu Committee

The Kejri government in Delhi is being accused of corruption and ‘power abuse’ by the Shunglu committee, led by former Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. Jung wants further enquiries on a few points and does not want to make the report public right now, in spite of repeated insistence from Congress. Congress has acquired a copy of the report by means of RTI.

The steps which have been marked by the committee are— providing AAP with land for its new party office, minister Satyendra Jain’s daughter getting the position of ‘mission director’ in Delhi State Health Mission and involvement of AAP members as ‘advisors’ in the ruling system.

As a reply to the allegations the AAP government questions the authenticity of the committee. In 2015, Delhi Chief Minister Mr Aravind Kejriwal told his officers to take independent decisions on matters under the section 239AA(3)a of the Indian Constitution, without involving the Lt Governor. Jung says that the disputes arose after that.
