Delhi chief minister Mr Aravind Kejriwal has made headlines again, for all wrong reasons. An Assam court told him to attend a session regarding a defamation case; after Kejriwal became absent in the session, an arrest warrant has been issued in his name.
All of it started after Kejriwal’s controversial tweets against the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. The Delhi CM has talked foul against the educational qualification of the Prime minister. ‘Mr Narendra Modi has passed the 12th standard only and his qualifications of the next level are all fake’, cries Kejriwal on the micro-blogging platform.
Surjo Rongphar, the Deputy Chairman of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has filed a case of defamation against Mr Kejriwal, under section 499, 500, 501 of Indian Penal Code. The court ordered Kejriwal to appear before it in person but he ignored the order of the court. The next hearing is scheduled on May 8.
