Class 9 Boy Ends Life, after being harassed from teacher

A Class 9 student committed suicide by consuming cow dung powder with water at his residence in Vadavalli. Parents of N Babu, 14, alleged that their son was harassed by three teachers of city corporation-run P Kamala nathan Memorial Higher Secondary School where he was studying. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and have decided to interrogate the teachers based on a forensic study of the boy's suicide note.

Parents and relatives of the boy gathered at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) and demanded action against the three teachers who allegedly harassed the boy for more than a month.

However, police pacified them, assuring appropriate action against the guilty. As per the suicide note, one of the three teachers had beaten Babu's classmate in the classroom in June.

"We have sent the suicide note and his school notebook to the forensic science department, Chennai, to ascertain if the handwriting is the same. Based on the report, we will take further action," said Vadavalli inspector Saravanan.
