Kashmiri Officer in Indian Army

Lt Umar Fayaz is one of the eleven officer enrolled(2016 batch NDA) in Indian Army from J & K .  He was killed by terrorists. 

"When I heard about Fayaz's death, I felt terrible but it only strengthened my resolve to take down the terrorists," Ashutosh Banthia, a Kashmiri Pandit said. "I wanted to get posted in the Valley. Fortunately, that wish has come true. I will be joining an artillery regiment which is presently in Kashmir."

Shah Nawaz(Proud Kashmiri) who joined Indian Army said he had been "fascinated by the military uniform" ever since he was a child. His beaming father, Mohammad Ashraf, who runs a small eatery in that town, said: "After the Umar Fayaz incident, I am concerned about my son's safety, but at the same time very proud of his achievement. I am sure that their success will motivate more youngsters from J&K to join the Army. I hope my other sons will follow in the footsteps of Nawaz and Umar." Nawaz choose the artillery regiment.
