AUTORICKSHAW STRIKE IN MUMBAI

Autorickshaw Strike in Mumbai

Autorickshaw vs Cab aggregator like Ola and Uber is not the new story. With business taking toll, rickshaw wallas are taking the fight to state government. They believe that government failed to regulate the cab aggregators as they govern and regulate auto.

Shashank Rao of the Auto union said, "Around 1 lakh autorickshaws will not ply on Wednesday as the state government has been ignoring their demands, which is affecting their livelihood.”

He also said, "The meeting called by the transport commissioner was a farce; he asked us to wait till the Centre comes up with a policy on cab aggregators. We also do not have much hope in the meeting convened by transport minister Diwakar Raote on September 1.”

The move will affect commuters.
